Students often think that what they learn in classroom is only for examinations, and has no relevance to the real world. This promotes skill based learning, without any conceptual understanding. This also makes math learning routine, rot based and purposeless. The aims of making mathematics meaningful workshops is to showcase some ideas with hands on activities that introduce students to the purpose of math they learn in the class room, promote independent thinking and group work, making math learning more dynamic and meaningful.
